Did you know that York has a mountain?
Mount Agamenticus is situated 692' above sea level in the western part of York. During WWII it was used as a look out. It also once housed a Fire tower. During the 60's and 70's it was a ski area called Big A. Today it is home to one of the largest open areas of land in southern Maine with incredible hiking trails.

The Trafton family has lived in York for many generations dating back over 300 years. Brian loves to share his stories and folklore of the area. He has done tours over the years for a local Realestate agency and also the new staff of the school district. Brian over the years has had many roles in the town of York from Bus driver, trolley driver, Community service officer and also volunteer firefighter. Some even going so far as to call him the unofficial "mayor" of York. When he is not giving tours he can be found a the beach fire station, giving parking advice at York Beach or hanging out with his extended family.
